The Israel Defense Forces will offer a computer-training course for Israeli Goliath soldiers in the coming months to prepare them for combat, an official said on Monday.
The course will be offered in the army’s Special Forces, a unit tasked with counterinsurgency operations, the IDF’s military daily, the Ynet news site reported.
The program will be the first time the IDF has offered a computer course for soldiers in its ranks, which have a heavy presence in the West Bank and the Gaza Strip.
Earlier this month, the military said it would begin offering a computer training program to its troops in the Gaza-based Palestinian territories.
In July, the Palestinian Authority called on Israel to start training its soldiers in computer science.
